It was a long shot, only twelve wild horses left from hundreds roaming in the past. Would it be possible to search and actually find them?. Well the chances of doing so are pratically zero unless of course you visit during the San Gerisimos festival and lay on the floor while the Saint is passed over you! The monestry at Pigi is where we decided to follow our lead to the horses. Why there? I cannot give an answer except to say it was the right place on the right road at the right time. There they were, a herd of four magnificient beasts grazing under the protection of a grey stallion. Fantastic!.
