My partner and i had a lovely 7 day holiday in the resort of Skala and stayed at the nine muses hotel in the resort of Skala. We enjoyed our stay so much we didnt want to go home. We hired a car to see the island and agree with other people that is the best way to do it, good value car hire in Skala as recommended by the Thompson rep. The weather hotel and staff at the hotel were excellent friendly and helpful. We intend to return next year.

A magical island. Stayed at Hotel San Lorenzo - basic accommodation but v.clean and friendly and excellent facilities. Great beaches nearby. The Island tour was exceptional and the local travel company guide - Esmie - was excellent.

We have stayed in Lassi for the last two years (in late June & July) and absolutely love it. We are in our mid twenties, and when on holiday want to relax, go for meals out, and generally wind down, and Kefalonia is the perfect place to do that. We have stayed in both a 4 star Hotel (Mediteranee) and a 2 star apartment(Eleftheria), although air con made the heat a lot more bearable, we had fabulous time both years.Lassi is basically one road, where you find the restaurants & bars, all the bars are not plastic chairs at the side of the road, but have lovely gardens, fountains, palm trees, etc, and So Simple bar even has leather sofa's to relax on whilst sipping cocktails! Lassi is a good base for exploring as it has a bit of life for those who don't want a get away from it all holiday, and I only hope that Kefalonia doesn't become commercialised, as it is stunning as it is. The beaches in Lassi are fab, with sand so soft you disappear into it, but you must hire a car explore the rest of the island and find the out of the way coves, and of course Myrtos Beach is a must for all sun worshippers.
