we have just arrived back from katelios. we loved the resort, the atmosphere is nice and the people are really friendly. we often bought food from marino's supermarket and he was EXTREMELY friendly. he would round the prices down so you dont have loose cents and if u complimented on his melons (which are the nicest we have ever had!) you may be lucky enough to be given one free (we were and a pepper and a tomato!). the best taverna we thought was katelios taverna, altho all the staff are english, they live in kefalonia all year round. but then we found persa's which is by far the best taverna, persa is so lovely and will go out of her way to help you and her oven potatoes are to die for. persa's taverna is not where all the other tavernas are located, its on the main road from the mountains towards katelios. it has themost beautiful setting of all the tavernas although its not on the sea front. we would definatley consider going back to katelios just for persa's!!

I have the pleasure of living in Kateleios, it is truely a lovey place even in the winter, the views are outstanding seeing both Zante and main land greece Killini. Of a night time the lights look fantastic. I would recommend Kateleios to any one looking for a relaxing stress free holiday. There is a beach, resturants, bars and small mini markets and gift shops and car hire just about everything you need. The locals are friendly and go out of their way to help you. Everything is quite spreed out so apartment and bars aren't on top of one another and there are some nice villages around Kateleios to go an visit, the next village after Kateleios heading towards Scala is Called Ratzalki which has a fantastic Beach called Kaminia where the turles come to lay there eggs it is quite a long beach with only a few apartments, the beach is sandy and the water is clear.Excaellent for going for long walks and swimming. For all of you that come to Kateleios i hope you enjoy your holiday and maybe i'l see you around.

Unfortunately we stayed at other accomodation in Katelios this year but went back to the Doumas, the place we first stayed at when it opened in 2001.They warmly welcomed us back, and we spent most of our week at there accomodation. Penny instantly remembered us and the whole family were brilliant. We will definatly stay there next time we visit the beautifull island of Kefalonia

WE both had a brilliant holiday - The Doumas Apartments have got excellent facilities - in fact the best we have ever had. Michalis and his staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the Doumas for a quiet and relaxing holiday. We are hoping to go back again this year.

When we booked it was just by chance, but after a week there and getting to know the locals we are now hooked. It is somewhere we feel it is safe to take my partners two 7yr olds, and even last year ( the second visit)we had some stick from the local bar owners for not taking them, The people are so very nice and there is nothing they wont do for you. Life is very basic and advice would be to take a fan than you can use in your room as most rooms do not have air con. For a nothing to do but relax and read its very very good. Most resort blocks have an exchange table for things like books, washing up liquid ect.
The last thing is you can never get lost on the island, all roads lead to Agostoli.
